The brilliant heroine of this historical fiction piece, a secretary for Winston Churchill, finds herself caught up in an effort to save his life and the future of England from those plotting its demise. I truly enjoyed the fresh perspective from someone working closely with Churchill, while the intense action carried the plot along quickly. I chose this book because the publisher advertised that fans of Laurie R. King would love this series, and I am a huge fan of her work. However, I found this writing not as deep, rich, and thought-provoking as King's novels. In spite of this, it was an exciting page turner.
