The Redbreast

Author:
Nesbo, Jo
Publication Date:
2006
Nesbo's latest book, The Snowman, has been quite popular but I decided to begin with his third book, The Redbreast, the earliest of his works published in English.  Much like Stieg Larsson and Henning Mankell, Nesbo is a well-known crime writer in Norway but a recent discovery in the States.  In this complex mystery, old relationships and resentments from World War II resurface in the present day, resulting in the deaths of a group of soldiers. This is an engrossing and well-executed book - I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good crime novel.
