Take & Make Kits

Libraries aren’t an archive of books.  Instead, libraries are a place to meet, a place to collaborate, a place to explore.

One Book Colorado: A book for every four year old

Visit your local library October 13-25 as we join a variety of statewide partners focused on getting a book into every 4-year-old's hands all over the state through the One Book Colorado program.

Having a collection of children’s books in a child’s home is an important stepping stone to successful learning. Reading books with a child help build vocabulary, comprehension, and  open doors to the world we live.

A Time to Reminiscence - Tallie Gray

A critical component of my job is to think about Grand County Library District’s (GCLD) patron demographics and provide resources that are helpful, fun, entertaining, and educational. One group that has been weighing heavily on my heart and mind, especially during COVID-19, is those who need caregivers. I consider these individuals to be a library unto themselves, filled with history, experiences, and perspectives that should be shared. GCLD now has resources to help in pulling forth oral stories from those in need of care, especially those with dementia or Alzheimer’s.

Check Out Colorado

The Check Out Colorado State Parks Program is going strong at GCLD. The program, the result of a partnership between Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the Colorado Department of Education State Library, provides each of our libraries with a Colorado State Park pass and adventure backpack filled with information and education activities, including field guides, state park information, and binoculars.

COVID-19 Information

The Grand County Library District is actively monitoring new information regarding COVID-19. The following information details the steps our libraries are taking to protect the health and safety of our community and patrons. This page will be updated with new information and changes in district actions as the situation evolves.

We're Growing Readers Together

It takes a big heart to help shape young minds. Do you care for babies and toddlers of a family member, friend, or neighbor? Are you looking to help this little mind even more? Grand County Library District is here to support you.

GCLD is Going Fine Free

As of January 1, 2020, Grand County Library District will no longer charge fines for overdue materials.

Our goal as a library is to provide free, equitable access for all library patrons. By removing overdue fines, we will increase access to library collections, which is our primary purpose.
