How To Get a Card
- Apply in person at any of our five Grand County Library District branches. To obtain a temporary library card to access only digital eBooks, Audiobooks, and other resources, email cardsignup@gcld.org.
What You Need
Full Use Card - good at all five library branches, including unlimited check-outs, unlimited holds, access to all online resources, and access to special collections.
- government issued photo ID
- proof of ownership of property in Grand County, or a recently post-marked piece of mail delivered to you at a Grand County PO Box or mailing address
- or -
- a library card from another library in the state of Colorado (must present card when signing up for a Grand County Library District card)
Limited Use Card - maximum of five items checked out at a time, and five active holds on the account. Limited Use Cards exclude special collections but include all online resources and collections.
- government issued photo ID
- valid email address and a valid phone number
One4Fun Card - for children 12 and under on which a maximum of 1 book can be checked out at a time and provides access to online resources. One4Fun Cards exclude special collections. This card type is fine-free.

- request materials and view holds
- view or enable reading history
- view fees for lost or damaged items
- change your contact information
If you've lost your card:
- Call or come in to report a lost or stolen card. You are responsible for all items checked out until we are notified. Replacement cards cost $2.
